Report on Clinical Lectures for Aruvai Maruthuvam at Gampaha Wikiramararaichi Ayurveda Institute, University of Kelaniya Jakala
The clinical lectures at Gampaha Wikiramararaichi Ayurveda Institute, Jakala for Aruvai Maruthuvam was arranged by Dr. (Mrs.) S. Pancharajah for the final BSMS students (30th Batch) from 28.01.2019 to 01.02.2019. This lectures were conducted by Dr A.A Pushpakumara.
Thirty seven Final BSMS students (37) were enrolled in this programme. He clearly demonstrate the surgical methods for Inguinal Hernia (Kudal Andam), Anal Fistula (Puntharam), Renal stone (Kalladaippu Noi), Gall stone (Pitta Kallu), Varicose Vein (Narampu Chilanthi), Corns (Aanikkudu) and Piles (Eruvaimulai Noi) on 28th,30th of January and 1st of February. He also delivered lectures on Akni Karma, preparation of Sharaa and usage of Shaara on 29th, 31st of January.
Students also got the skill to withdraw the blood (Siraviyatha) for Varicose Vein and insert the Karththiri for fistula. In addition the students visited to modern panchakarma unit located in Kiribathgoda, where they have seen the cupping method (Hijaama), and water therapy for different disease condition.
They also gained knowledge in preparation of culture media to culture organism and antimicrobial activity against certain pathogens.
This clinical lectures were very useful to the students to enrich their knowledge and skills.

Seminar For Siddha Medical Students
A seminar for Siddha Medical Students will be held on 13th March 2019 from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm at Auditorium, Unit of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna.
The Resource Person: Dr. Selvaa Shanmugam, MD (Siddha), PhD, India
This Seminar will be organized by the Government Siddha Medical Officers Union, Sri Lanka.

Siddha Medical students were participated and obtained awards and certificates in the COLOURS NITE 2017 which was celebrated at University of Jaffna on March 2019.

Board of Study of Siddha Medicine for MD at PGIIM, University of Colombo
The Board of Study of Siddha Medicine for MD was started at Post Graduate Institute of Indigenous Medicine (PGIIM), University of Colombo. The 1st Board Meeting was held on 25th February 2018.
The following Senior Academic Staff were appointed as members of the Board of Study of Siddha Medicine for 3 years from February 2019,

Workshop for world diabetic day
Workshop for world diabetic day was organized by fourth BSMS students attached to the proposed department of Gunapadam on 9th January 2019 from 9.00 am to 12.00p.m in Chavakachcheri DS office. Fourth BSMS students have prepared and displayed traditional healthy foods for diabetic patients. Clear explanation was given about the management for diabetic patients. Around 250 staff and public were benefited through this workshop.

School students visited to the Herbal Garden
J/Point Pedro Methodist Girls High School students visited the herbal garden, herbarium section and marunthu seimuraiyiyal laboratory of proposed department of Gunapadam on 12th February 2019 from 10.00a.m to 2.00p.m
Around 200 students and six teachers obtained knowledge regarding the importance of medicinal plants. Herbal porridge is also distributed to all participants. -
Participated Yoga Show Programme
Participated the yoga show programme organized by yoga visiting demonstrator Mr. S.Umasuthan joined with proposed department of Gunapadam and BSMS students on 27th February 2019.
Around 200 staff and public were benefited through the program
