  • Free Medical Camp at Yogar Swamikal Thiruvady Nilayam Elders Home, Vannerikulam, Kilinochchi

    A free medical camp with entertainment programme was held on 5th October 2019 at Yogar Swamikal Thiruvady Nilayam Elders Home, Vannerikulam, Kilinochchi.  This Programme was organized by Unit of Siddha Medicine in association with the Provincial Department of Indigenous Medicine, Northern Province. The 13 Academic staff, 39 fourth and final BSMS students, 3 Siddha Medical Officers were participated in this great occasion. Around 40 Senior Citizens from the elder’s home came for the health checkup.

  • Exhibition at Home for the Aged, Kaithady

    The Unit of Siddha Medicine Students are participating in the Exhibition at Home for the Aged, Kaithady for International Elders week from 1st October to 7th October 2019. The five proposed Departments are involving and exhibits their ideas in this exhibition.

  • Saraswathi Pooja 2019

    The Saraswathi pooja was commenced on 29th September 2019 at Unit of Siddha Medicine.

  • Annual Interfaculty Track and Field Championship 2019

    1st and 2nd BSMS Students were participated and obtained certificates in Annual Interfaculty Track and Field Championship 2019 which was held at Main ground, University of Jaffna.

  • Inter Faculty Practical Demonstration by Proposed Department of Gunapadam

    On 19th August 2019, Practical session regarding the identification and uses of medicinal plants in herbal garden at Unit of Siddha Medicine was conducted for the 3rd year students, Department of Bio-Systems Technology, Faculty of Technology, University of Jaffna Kilinochchi.

    This program was conducted under the instruction of Dr. (Mrs.) T. Thayalini, Head/Siddha Medicine and the two lecturers Dr. T. Vijayakumar and Dr.(Mrs.)Vidhya Milano Prasad attached to Proposed Department of Gunapadam explained the practical session under the topic “Agronomy of underutilized crops”.

  • Siddha Newsletter 2018 Released

    The Second issue of Siddha Newsletter 2018 was released by the Competent Authority, University of Jaffna on 16th August 2019 at Boardroom, Unit of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna. Chairman/ BoM, Members of the BoM, Academic staff and Temporary staff were participated in this occasion.

  • Discussion on Finalizing the Revised Curriculum of the Unit of Siddha Medicine, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Tricomalee Campus, Eastern University

    The above mentioned discussion was organized to finalized the appropriate curriculum to match with the present and future needs of the society. This session was successfully held on 13th July 2019 from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm at Boardroom, Unit of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna

    In this great occasion, Competent Authority of University of Jaffna; Vice- Chancellor of Eastern University; Rector of Trincomalee Campus; Dean of Faculty of Applied Science, Eastern University; Chairman/ Board of Management of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna; Members of the Eastern University; Heads of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna & Trincomalee campus; Retired Senior Lecturer; Senior Academic Staff of Siddha Medicine from both Universities were participated.

  • Workshop on  Counselling and Psycho-social Support

    Dr. (Mrs) K. Sounthararajan, Dr. (Ms.) V.Sanmugarajah  and  Dr. (Mrs.) Rajeetha Miraaj were participated in the Workshop on  Counselling and Psycho-social Support was organized by the Staff Development Centre, University of Jaffna on 10th July 2019 from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm at the SDC Conference Hall, University of Jaffna.

  • Workshop on Psycho-social Intervention

    Dr. (Mrs.) A. Sritharan, Dr. (Mrs) K. Sounthararajan, Dr. (Ms.) V.Sanmugarajah  and  Dr. (Mrs.) Rajeetha Miraaj were participated in the Workshop on  Psycho-social Intervention was organized by the Well being center, University of Jaffna on 12th June 2019 from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm at the Staff Development Center, University of Jaffna.

  • Appointment of Trainee Management Assistant

    The following five trainees were appointed as Trainee Management Assistant to the five Proposed Departments of the Siddha Medicine from 2nd May 2019.
