Sattaimuni Siddhar Gurupooja celebration: 15th of September 2025
Venue : Sri Siddhi Vinayagar Temple, Faculty of Siddha Medicine.
Sattaimuni Siddhar is an ancient Tamil saint, one of the revered Pathinen Siddhargal (18 great Siddhas), known for his profound contributions to Siddha medicine, alchemy, and anthropology. He being an ardent devotee of lord Shiva was presented a woolen shirt “Kambali sattai” by Shiva himself. Since then, he was called “Kailaaya kambali sattaimuni”. He is considered a disciple of the great Siddhar Bogar and also studied under Sage Agastya. Since he learned under Siddhar Bogar, he grasped chemistry to the finer nuances. Soon he unfurled his ingenuity in the field of chemistry in transmuting base metals to higher level and in developing muppu and mercuric pills
The Sattaimuni Siddhar Gurupooja celebration was celebrated on 15th of September 2025 at the Sri Siddhi Vinayagar Temple, Faculty of Siddha Medicine. The event was organized by the Siddha Medical Students’ Union, with guidance provided to Phase I BSMS students by academic staff of Department of Moolathathuvam.
The ceremony began with the recitation of “Siddhar Vanakkam” by Phase I BSMS students Miss.S.Lukshana, honoring the revered lineage of Siddhars through devotional verses. A special speech on the life, spiritual wisdom, and medical contributions of Sattaimuni Siddhar was delivered by first-year student Master.S.Sivahajan.The talk highlighted Sattaimuni Siddhar’s profound impact on Siddha medicine, alchemy and spiritual
justice. Sattaimuni Siddhar is known for his expertise in Siddha medicine, he authored “Sattaimuni Karpam-100,” a work on rejuvenation medicine followed by many even today.He produced 96 sutras related to alchemy (Rasavathavidya). His fundamental
works in anthropology are held in high regard among the Siddhars. He is celebrated for his teachings and remedies aimed at balancing cosmic energies and restoring harmony.
